Façade furniture::
The façade as usable interface between inside and outside doubles as a desk, bar, bench, sideboard or pass-through window and serves to expand the interior space outward.
Closet:
double-sided service unit.
on the inside: alcove and storage room, suitable for kitchenette and washing facility.
on the outside: toolshed and storage.
Roof:
Climate protection and additional overhead space / loft for storage or resting.
The garden cabin DuLa has been developed in collabora-
tion with the Landesverband der Berliner Kleingärtner (Berlin association of garden plot holders) specifically for the needs of young families. The prototype was built by SchwörerHaus. It was presented in Berlin at the Internationale GrüneWoche (international green week - food, gardening and agricultural exhibition) in 2006.
From garden cabin to Durchlaube.
The DuLa has various excep-
tional architectural features: The "closet" offers ample storage space for garden tools etc. The wide sliding doors enlarge the central interior space outward along the cabin´s width, where weather-
proof "façade furniture" can be used for cooking, and at the same time provides opportu-
nities to sit, rest and play.
